Research
Taking care of the highest quality we performed tests measuring products' endurance at Polish Building Research Institute in Warsaw.Among the others anchor nails were put to the shearing strength tests. The nails are the most important component of each timber joint as they ensure substantial pressure between the connector and wood surface.
The following table shows obtained results:
| Dimensions L-d (mm) |
Strenght: |
|
||
| shearing timber/timber Rv(kN) |
shearing steel/timber Rv(kN) |
pulling out steel/timber Rt(kN) |
||
| 40-4,0 | 1,69 | 2,11 | 0,77 | |
| 50-4,0 | 1,69 | 2,11 | 1,09 | |
| 60-4,0 | 1,69 | 2,11 | 1,41 | |
| 75-4,0 | 1,69 | 2,11 | 1,89 | |
Making a specific timber joint with use of connectors it is necessary to remember about retaining minimum distances between the nails, what in detail is characterized in Polish norm PN-81/B-03150/03. A depth of nail drive should amount to no less than: 12 x nail major diameter.
WB joist hangers were put to the maximum loads tests.
